Inspiration

Summers at the cabin are a tradition in our family.  So many things to see and do!    I love seeing the many different wildflowers that grow there!  Sometimes we are lucky to go in the early spring to see the carpet of trillium on our forest floor.  A beautiful sight to behold!

In June, after school is out, I always look forward to that first drive of the summer bouncing down the winding 2-rutted cabin road, grass growing up between the ruts whisking loudly on the underside of the car, until suddenly the aspens and pines open up and there stands the cabin, basking in sunlight, just waiting for us to fill it with laughter and sandy feet! And don't forget the ever-present sound of the slamming screen door as the kids run down to the lake, shouting with delight.

On early morning walks we can see fresh deer tracks on our road and it is then that we start to relax, realizing finally that we are truly at our little wooden castle in the woods, under the swaying aspens with their fluttering leaves.  As night approaches we are treated to the symphony sounds of the crickets, with their reassuring rhythmic sounds, under brilliantly starry nights.  These wonderful and vivid memories are the inspiration for the Cabin Series II Textiles.
