I am a handweaver and teacher of fiber arts.  I have always been smitten with the natural fibers of linen, cotton, wool, and silk.  They are as straight forward and honest as you can get in a fiber.  They are hard-working, strong, enduring, classic.  Man has come up with different manufactured fibers that mimic natural fibers and they have done a reasonable job in doing so.  But the manmade fibers are still without many of the wonderful, inherent, natural qualities that have made linen, cotton, wool and silk remain so universally popular for so long.  If asked, I would have to say that my favorite fiber is linen.  I love it's feel, how it breathes, it's drape, the way it takes color, it's history, it's sheen after it has been cold-mangled.  It is a fascinating fiber.  The idea of taking the stalk of a pretty little blue flower and turning it into such beautiful and elegant cloth is truly amazing!

My designs are influenced by my Nordic heritage and the way I grew up.  The 'Less is More' attitude of my parents has always been a way of life for me, and is reflected in my textiles.
